Who is the best pound-for-pound wrestler in VISAA and why? If it is 'other', state who and make a case.

I think Janis. even though so close with Atkinson, Respectfully he already has a state championship. I understand Atkinson had mason last year, but Janis will be more than likely a 2x state champ in history were Atkinson only a 1x if he does it this year!

So, following this logic, Atkinson is only the fifth best returning VISAA wrestler after Kelly, Runzo, Rumley, and Janis? After all, those guys all won state championships last year. Atkinson only has three National Prep Top-4 finishes, along with a third in the 2011 Super 32 (where he beat Mason 6-0 to knock him out of the medal round), and a third in the 2012 NHSCA Junior Nationals. He beat both of this year's PA 120-lb AAA state finalists in those tournaments. He also beat Mason 6-2 in the semis of the 2011 National Prep tournament to earn his second place finish that year. But, he is only a 3X VISAA runner-up, all one-point losses to Mason, so I guess that would place him behind someone who has state title.

By the way---While I think national-level competition is a better standard for measuring how good a particular wrestler is, Janis will actually be going for his third state title this year.

Nope I wouldnt put him behind runzo or kelly or even rumley, just behind JANIS. Just my opinion. Like I said very respectfully I like Atkinson at #2 in th whole VISAA.

Great stuff. Makes the board fun, and in this case - there are some arguments to be made on both sides. Personally, Atkinson's national resume speaks for itself. On the other hand, I like what Janis has accomplished against VA AAA studs. Two different styles of wrestling for sure.
